Look of Love
Pen & Acrylic on Canvas
2008

Finished piece for Locks of Love Event/Look of Love Show at Framations.

Armadillo
Pen & Acrylic on Canvas
2007

This piece made quite a journey to get where it is now, and I don’t mean travel. I started it a couple years ago, but shortly after gave up on it. It wasn’t until an opportunity to exhibit some of my work presented itself that I decided to re-visit the piece. As I started re-working it, I found new inspiration and direction. Now it’s one of my favorites.

Curious
Pen & Acrylic on Canvas
2007

With this piece I did the under painting by dripping paint in different directions on the canvas. This created a nice texture, that I then used as an outline to create the parts of the painting. Add some animals and cityscape in the background, stir, and enjoy.

Knight
Pen & Acrylic on Canvas
2007

I started this piece in college thinking that it would symbolize my ideal aesthetic. Not the romantic notions of a knight in shining armor, but the craftsmanship, detail, and brilliance of the suite of armor. The knight originally two oracles, one on each side. When I finished the piece for a show I changed it to the animals you see here to create more character in it’s protectors.

Blue Arches
Acrylic on Canvas
36″x34″
2002

In was one of my first paintings after college. I considered it Surreal because the objects are recognizable as archways, but it has the feel of a true abstract. It’s one of my most prized pieces and holds the place of honor above my fireplace mantel.

Camel
Acrylic on Canvas
26″x56″
2002

Started out as an experiment, and ended up one of my favorites. I didn’t want a typical ’single subject’ painting, and l chose unusual animals to showcase their uniqueness, beauty, and value.

Note: The title of this painting came from the fact that it took a friend pointing out the spots on what I thought was a camel to convince me that I’d actually painted a giraffe.

Christmas
Pen & Acrylic on Illustration Board
2006

This piece was originally created to be the cover art for Church bulletins during the holiday season, but the deal fell through and I presented it in the Oak Leaf Holiday Show instead.
