Today was the reception for the Oak Leaf Fall Show, my parents were there to see me get two awards – a Honorable Mention in the painting category for Blue Arches, and Second Place in the miscellaneous category for Queen of Hearts. I don’t agree with some of the judges picks, but it couldn’t have been easy to make a decision among such wonderful artwork. For example my husband’s favorite out of the whole show (which sadly wasn’t mine) only received an Honorable Mention when I was sure it would get Best of Show or First Place hands down.

The show will be running through the first week of October, right around the time I should hear back from Art St. Louis regarding my submission to their XXIII Show.
