“A Few of My Favorite Things” Opening

At the opening reception Saturday "Camel" won Third Prize!  There was a lot of great work, and I even managed to mingle a bit.  It's definitely getting easier, I feel more confident each time I enter a show.

“A few of my favorite things” show

The craziness has slowed a little, enough so that I was able to submit a couple of paintings and a drawing for the "A Few of My Favorite Things" show. Since I didn't have the frames finished, I painted the edges and exposed raw canvas then attached the wire hanger to the canvas supports. The end result looks ok, and shouldn't count against me too much.

Framing Fiasco!

I bought what I thought was two sets of two white painted wood molding in eight foot pieces - for frames. Unfortunately, when I opened the package I discovered that they were not the same molding, but two totally different pieces; and that they were not actually wood but vinyl. February is the month of birthdays! This weekend along with celebrating my mom's birthday I plan on taking a trip to the hardware store and pricing a wood ceiling project for my basement. Due to a size restriction the two paintings in my last post will not be eligible for the upcoming show. I may still enter a couple of my drawings, but at this point I'm focusing on framing the work for the first show.
