Knight Progress (continues)

Mollie December 27th, 2006 Painting , Show

With Christmas over I can finally get back to work; unfortunately, with the deadline two weeks away I don’t think I’m going to be able to finish both of the paintings I had hoped to enter. As an alternative to the second painting I’ve started another drawing to take it’s place, something that I can do in stolen moments here and there.

Meanwhile, I started re-working the right animal face and added her costume. I still have a lot to do, including making a frame and hanging it ugh! Wish me luck, inspiration, and most importantly motivation!!!

Is the stage-right animal’s outfit very very bright, or is it just me?

I think I’d like it better if it were the same subdued palette as the guy over on the left. Nitpicky, that’s me.

Your instincts are correct. The shading the dress is next on my ‘to do list’. Do you have any ideas on what to do in the area around the figures? I’m considering lattice, maybe with flowering vines… but I’m not sure. I need something I can do quickly LOL so I can finish before the deadline.

Fluted columns maybe? Perhaps with ivy climbing it?

Thank you, that would’ve been nice, but I went with old crumbling stone because I wanted to break up the painting horizontally a bit. I am thinking about doing some flowering vines still… it depends on whether I have time or not.
